slimp

investigating new methods of image and video material creation.

The production of video material—especially when depicting liquids such as oil or slime—has traditionally relied on analog techniques. Oils, pigments, and liquids of varying viscosity were used to create mesmerizing visual effects rooted in physical interaction and randomness.

However, with the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, a more abstract and exploratory approach has become possible.

Using text-to-video prompting, it is now easier than ever to experiment with new combinations of textures, materials, and visual behaviors. In this study, over 80 unique video clips were generated, exploring organic and abstract structures, movement patterns, surface reactions, and time-lapsed growth processes—ranging from corals to climbing plants.

AI enables the creation of highly complex visual patterns and surreal morphologies. These synthetic liquids move, expand, and interact in ways that transcend physical limitations.

As a result, the boundary between reality and imagination becomes increasingly fluid. Artificial intelligence no longer merely imitates nature—it actively participates in shaping a new, speculative visual language.
