flood room installation at anoha berlin
the children's world of the jwish Museum
The newly created ANOHA Children’s World at the Jewish Museum Berlin (2021) explores the captivating and timeless story of Noah’s Ark in an entirely new and immersive way. The exhibition presents this iconic narrative through a unique lens, engaging young audiences with its deep emotional and educational resonance.
To convey the awe-inspiring power of water, the ANOHA Berlin production team commissioned a 7K flood animation, created using Autodesk Maya's Boss Ocean Engine. This cutting-edge technology was specifically developed to replicate the natural, realistic movement of water, bringing the biblical flood to life in a breathtakingly authentic manner. The fluid dynamics, with their complex interactions of ebb and flow, are enhanced through dramaturgical choreography, featuring both raging and calm waves and rain. These elements emphasize the immense power of the deluge and add a deeper emotional dimension to the animation.
The animation serves as the focal point of the Flood Room, one of the key installations in the Children’s World. Designed to captivate and educate, the room was created in collaboration with sound artist Wolfram Spyra, whose atmospheric soundscapes heighten the immersive experience, merging visual and auditory elements to intensify the emotional impact of the flood narrative.
