AI - SHORT x FORWARD FESTIVAL

Invited by Forward Festival Berlin to participate in an AI Short Competition hosted by LTX Studio.
Studio.TS teamed up with sound designer and musician Manuel Pfeifer, aka Posensia, for the sound design.
ECHO is a speculative exploration of artificial consciousness, identity, and the cycle of existence.
The film examines a state in which the boundary between death and continuation becomes increasingly
uncertain. If memory, experience, and consciousness can be preserved, transferred, or rebuilt, what does
it mean to die? Does an individual cease to exist when its body fails, or can it persist through successive
reconstructions?
Echo exists within this ambiguity. Neither fully alive nor truly dead, it inhabits a perpetual state of becoming.
Every reconstruction suggests continuity while simultaneously raising doubt about whether the same
individual still exists.
Rather than offering answers, the film invites reflection on one of the oldest questions of human existence:
is mortality a condition of life, or merely a limitation of biological systems? If an artificial consciousness can
always be restored, can it ever truly die?
At the end, Echo offers only a single response:
A CONSEQUENCE OF BECOMING.
